INFINITY DOME

Overview:

Ever since understanding the potential of the awe-inspiring idea of eternal chaotic inflation and the Multiverse, Christopher been obsessed with trying to bring to life what this means. He knows that the concept of the Multiverse is something that wasn’t dreamed up by scientists but it was rather an emergent idea from our deepest Physics. Chris comprehends that if eternal chaotic inflation is true what we actually exist in is so inconceivably immense and so overwhelmingly creative that it surpasses the reach of what any human mind can grasp.

Our Universe could be just a bubble in an ocean of other bubbles”  Dr Michael Kaku

To express this, Chris created a 360-degree immersive film entitled Beyond the Universe with artist and producer, Jodie Heenan. This film was shown to a sellout audience as part of National Science Week in an inflatable planetarium called the Infinity Dome. The film transported the viewer from the exact location of the Infinity Dome at Melbourne’s Royal Botanical Gardens on a guided tour through the Universe and out into the Multiverse. This epic tour of deep space was narrated by Australia’s foremost scientific communicator, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki.

Viewers reported that the film gave rise to such a sense of mystery deep within the self, they physically experienced chills and goosebumps. For Chris, feelings provoked by ideas of this magnitude can only be defined as mysterium tremendum et fascinans. This feeling is a continuing muse and theme of his artworks and films.

The Infinity Dome and the film Beyond Our Universe were funded by National Science Week and the City of Melbourne.
